Mandala in the City

Mandala in the City
Mandala in the City / 2013  / Terry Long

The least likely place to find a mandala would  probably be the financial district of a city. I took this photograph in the financial district of San Francisco, a foreboding looking place. It was a Sunday morning, and the place was deserted, lifeless, and colourless. The mandala was created in the studio with several different LED lights (light emitting diode), post production consisted of using 16 layers to build the finished mandala in Photoshop. The word gala is derived from the early French word gale meaning ‘rejoicing.’
