Tabula Rasa Mandala
Half way through creating this image, I found that I was not achieving the feeling that I was really looking for and I nearly gave up on the project, but luckily I just happened to play Tabula Rasa by Arvo Part, a piece of music I was not familiar with. It starts with a brisk walking pace, and a sense of great fortitude, and there is also a strong feeling of being on a spiritual journey. The music was very helpful in breaking through my artistic block. You can listen to Tabula Rasa here and see what you think about it… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-J8LNcZgTA

The mirrored image of the hedgerow and cracked road was taken on a Canon s95, and the mandala was created by trailing LED lights during a 20 second exposure in total darkness with a Nikon D200, plus there was some post production manipulation using Photoshop.
