Prismatic Mandala

Prismatic Mandal
Prismatic Mandala / 2013 / Terry Long

I normally create my mandalas with mostly LED flashlights/torches, by painting in the air  while facing the camera. The camera is normally set between 15 and 30 second exposure, and mounted on a sturdy tripod. Recently I have been experimenting with a glass prism using the sunlight to paint with. Prismatic Mandala is an example of this new approach that I am using.

I paint directly onto a white wall and record the movements with my digital camera. The exposures tend to be on the longer side, so about 20 to 30 seconds at f22.

    • Thank you for the feedback Matthew. I recently saw your enhanced timelapse video of London at night, and you have made a huge leap forward in your art. A beautifully crafted, and highly professional work. Well done Matthew!
