I named this piece Humbug because the design reminded me of a type of hard peppermint sweet or candy that we had in England when I was very young. I have also named the medium that I am using Prismography because I created the artwork with crystal prisms by directing and painting with natural sunlight onto white illustration board. A Nikon D700 digital SLR camera was set up on a tripod to record the painting process, and Photoshop was used to change the initial digital painting into the finished design. Being playful when you were very young was OK , but playfulness was very much frowned upon when entering into your teens. I think it is absolutely crucial for both artists and scientists to stay playful throughout their careers, for it is certainly a key to creativeness.
