Gestural Drawing

The gestural part of a drawing is usually at the beginning stages, and captures the emotion and movement of the subject. It is normally done very quickly, so as to create a sense of fluidity, avoiding the detail. If done correctly, it can become the very essence and life of the piece. Spirogyro was created with a LED light in the air and captured on a Nikon D700 SLR digital camera mounted on a stationary tripod.
