Drawing and Painting to Music
Classical music continues to be the inspiration for my drawings and paintings made with light. When I listen to composers like Ralph Vaughan Williams, I am very aware of his melodic layering and natural rhythms that he uses to conjure up the atmospheric and distinctive mood for each piece. Drawing and painting to music is also a powerful therapeutic tool which I have used with patients in a mental hospital. Cantata 7 was created with a moving eight LED light baton, and recorded with a Nikon D700 SLR digital camera, mounted on my trusty rusty musty tripod. The lens was a Nikon 85mm 1.4 , and there was also a touch of digital photoshop alchemy added.
